Fur elaboration is and was
always -since we have information about the town's economical life-
one of the main occupations of the Siatistians in the mothertown
and in other countries as well.
It is a professional field for
which the old fur makers were saying: "fur may be sick but never
dies" describing in this way perfectly the financial crisis of the
field through time.
The elaboration and the
commerce are adjusted to the time requirements. The photos of this
picture are characteristic: a laboratory of the 50', a visit of a
minister to another laboratory of the 60', and a contemporary
exhibition place to BIO. PA of Siatista, with an obvious inclination
for adjusting the clothes according to the fashion demands.
In the town there are a lot of
small labs for elaborating fur (home handicrafts) as well as
industries and commercial shops for clothes and fur accessories. |
