At the beginning of Balkan War (October 1912
) the habitants of Siatista did not wait the arrival of Greek
Army. They decided themselves to hoist the flag of Liberty on
October 12th.
And they enjoyed the ceremony of Liberation a
week later in the Prophet Elias’ church.
Turks, nonetheless, tried to
reconquer the town of Siatista on the 4th of
November, unsuccessfully.
When, finally, the Greek Army
arrived, colonel N. Kladas reported officially:
Our Army just confirms
Siatista’s Liberation, a result of action of its habitants.
